TIS The Season...

“Every Act of Kindness is Charity”
content___com.microsoft.office.outlook.f

It’s that time of year again where we reflect on how far we’ve come and what we’ve achieved, in doing so there’s a natural part of you that always wants to give something back.

This year Xen’s chosen charity is the Children’s Liver Disease Foundation. Every week 20 children in the UK are diagnosed with a life-threatening childhood liver disease and for most childhood liver diseases the cause is unknown and there is no cure.

On Sunday 24th November, a very good friend of mine held a food fiesta at her home which was supported by many local businesses who donated food and raffle prizes. Her target was to raise in the region of £400 but the result was quadrupled when she raised over a whopping £2,000.

The afternoon saw her home filled with members from the local community who were keen to show their generosity. Salma Razzaq, who benefited from the support of the Children’s Liver Disease Foundation, celebrates the 25th anniversary of her liver transplant after suffering acute liver failure at the age of 9.

I do know I am incredibly lucky and blessed to be here and I am forever indebted to the selfless act of an organ donor.” says Razzaq.

Xen was thrilled to play a part in supporting such a good cause and donated not just their baking and creativity skills but also their time in supporting the event for a few hours. In the words of the Foo’s ‘It’s times like these you give and give again…’
